SERVICES PROVIDED

Adoption:

Very few of us dream to adopt rather than having our own biological child. Usually, failure in conceiving naturally, maintain a pregnancy or unsuccessful fertility treatment leads the idea of adoption. The physical and emotional pain and suffering in this journey is not easily recognizable and may be damaging to the adopted child later.
You are not and should not be alone in this process. Understanding and grieving for the losses of incomplete pregnancies, creating a bond and understanding with the partner or self when you are a single parent would liberate you from unfinished thought processes and preventing your adopted child from carrying your projected loss and assisting the child to form his or her own authentic “Core Self”.
Whether you are a current or future adoptive (adopting) parent or have an adopted child or you are and adult adoptee facing daily challenges and emotional roller coasters; I can help you to understand your emotions and cope effectively with your challenges. I would like to assist you in creating a more joyful and less stressful process!

Couples Therapy:

The couple relationship is one of the most challenging, inspiring and enriching relations. When conflict is dealt with constructively, it can enhance awareness, compassion and gratitude in both partners.
Most conflicts in a couple’s relationship are largely fought on the surface, and unless the underlying patterns are realized, the problems will resurface in other areas. With couples, I explore the underlying dynamics and then help participants understand and undo the early injuries and learning that are the structure of their communication difficulties, fights, blame, infidelity, sexual boredom, emotional distances, and even parenting issues.
In my intensive and empathic work with couples, I focus on their level of communion (bond) and help them set healthy boundaries that will lead to a healthy sense of self in both partners. Having healthy boundaries usually leads to a greater awareness of our own inner life, improves our dynamics with our partners as well as others, enriches our communication, and expands our level of creativity to face life’s challenges.
My work with couples is a joyous and fulfilling journey that transforms each partner to achieve greater intimacy, romance and sexuality in their relationship

Family Therapy:

Families usually seek Family Therapy when one or more members is facing difficulties such as depression, addiction, loss of a loved one, parent-child conflict, and more. My work with families is relatively short term, less than six months. I normally work with those members who are most available to participate in therapy. The specific treatment plan will depend on your family situation and your goals to achieve in therapy.
Together we help identify your family’s strengths, weaknesses, and ability to solve problems. We express thoughts and emotions in a way that family members can be heard effectively. We discuss and explore your family’s patterns and themes—even those passed down generationally and culturally. The themes that impact family dynamics include: work, finances, marriage, divorce, parenting, illness, migration, gender roles, sexuality, and social and religious values. I work with the family to bring an empathic understanding of each other, a stronger sense of togetherness, and harmony within the family.

Individual Therapy:

I believe the solid foundation of a healthy “Core Self” is derived from both the love and attachment we receive in our early years of life through nurturing and what we learn later in our adulthood through self searching. As a therapist, I effectively guide and support my clients in this quest. I help them learn to create healthy boundaries and practice self regulation in their emotions and behavior. This is an empowering experience that leads people to feel more in charge of their life and relationships with others. I facilitate the journey to a happier and fulfilling life in which they can become in touch with their “Core Self” and inner wisdom.

Male Depression:

Assessing and diagnosing an overtly depressed man is easy. The symptoms present themselves in daily and routine activities; lack of interest, low energy, excessive sleep or insomnia, weight loss or gain… Most men do not seek therapeutic (counseling) assistance unless encouraged or pressured by wives, mothers or female significant others.
On the other hand, a covertly depressed man does not display obvious signs. He participates in the family functions and discussions, attends to his careers’ responsibilities and may have a large circle of friends and associates. However, for a covertly depressed man creating and maintaining authentic and effective connection is challenging. He fails to establish healthy communication and relationships with spouse, children, parents, staff or upper management. He seems to be chronically irritated and angry, cold, distanced and isolated or have strong desire to dominate and control his relationship with
others. He may abuse substances/alcohol in order to reduce his anxiety or deny the void he experiences within. He becomes an invisible prisoner of his emotion which vividly effects his surrounding negatively, having to pay a high price.
Recognition and analysis of the patterns of behavior is the first step towards recovery from anxiety and depression. In my practice, I use effective counseling styles to establish goals and discuss coping mechanism to eliminate or dilute the devastating struggle with depression.
